Cabinets play a critical role in the function of almost any home or office. They are a critical storage piece and can dramatically change the appearance of a room. When shopping for the right cabinet, there are several things to consider, ranging from design and function to materials and maintenance.

Consider the shape and size of a cabinet when choosing the best option for a particular space. Traditional cabinets come in three main types: wall, base and tall. Wall cabinets hang above countertops to maximize a small space. Base cabinets typically have doors that open below countertops and often have a drawer on top. Finally, tall cabinets take up more vertical space but are highly useful and provide additional storage.
